I’m Christian Quevedo, an Audit Associate at Lauterbach & Amen LLP, where I’ve spent the past two years working with nonprofit organizations and governmental entities. I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a B.S. in Accountancy in 2024, and my work has shown me how much strong communities depend on trust, transparency, and people who are willing to serve.
My commitment to this mission is personal. In 2015, I came to the United States from Colombia, and I later became a first-generation college graduate. For a long time, I didn’t have the support system I needed, no clear roadmap, no consistent mentorship, and not always the resources that make school feel possible. I learned to keep going anyway, but I also learned something important: students shouldn’t have to do it alone.
That’s why I’m helping build a nonprofit dedicated to supporting high school students in the Philippines through scholarships, mentorship, and school supplies. I want to give students what I didn’t always have reliable support, encouragement, and practical help now that I’m in a position to do so. My goal is simple: remove barriers, build confidence, and help students stay focused on creating a future they can be proud of.
